Speed Networking
The Chamber will host a Speed Networking event on Wednesday, March 24 beginning at 4:30 pm at the Entrepreneur Center Michigan City.  This is a free event and is designed for members to network in a fast paced, informational setting.  You’ll have 45-seconds to present your “commercial” to the group and make business contacts with those who are looking for your service or whose service you are looking to utilize.  Pre-registration is necessary.  Please RSVP to the Chamber by Monday, March 22. 
 
Third House Session Cancelled
The Chamber’s Third House Session,  co-hosted with the LaPorte Chamber and sponsored by NIPSCO has been cancelled due to the Legislators still being in session.  This event will be re-scheduled at a later date.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Business After Hours Available   
There are months available for your Business After Hours, but they are filling up quickly!  The cost to host is $150 and all you have to do is provide the location and light hors d’oeuvres, we’ll send out all of the invitations, promote your event and take the reservations.  Call the Chamber now to reserve your month! 

ECMC
The Entrepreneur Center Michigan City is hosting QuickBooks Tidbits, Tips & Tricks on Thursday, March 18 from 9 am -12 pm.  The cost is $49 for Chamber members.  Topics include: analyzing reports, error detection, top 10 errors & fixes, improving productivity and practical tools & tips to make the most of your investment in QuickBooks software.  Call 809-4200 ext. 300 to RSVP. 

Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizza
Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria, 500 El Portal in Michiana Shores, is open for the season, initially Fridays from 5 pm - 10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am – 10 pm, and Sundays from 11 am – 8 pm. Callan & Woodworth Moving & Storage
Haviland-Callan has combined with Wooodworth Moving & Storage to become the new Callan & Woodworth Moving & Storage.  They are hoping their larger size will create some efficiencies needed to survive in this brutal economy.  Their main location will remain at 900 Hwy. 12.  They will also have offices in South Bend, Jackson MI, Saint Joseph MI.  Allied has approved them to open a new full service facility in Fort Wayne IN. Youth Service Bureau
From now until April 3, Rent-A-Center is having its Spring Egg Fundraiser to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.  The funds raised will go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies nationwide, including the La Porte County agency to match some of the country’s most vulnerable children with mentors.  Rent-A-Center will match individual donations dollar for dollar up to $100,000, and guarantee a minimum donation of $250 to each of Big Brothers Big Sisters' agencies.  Purchase $1 colorful paper eggs at your Rent-A-Center, 4100 Franklin St.
